One way to make Reading Fun -- Reading centers --

When I was in school, we didn't do much in reading. We were all at our seats and the teacher would call out our names to have us read a paragraph or two. I hated reading out loud and wanted to drop out of school for it. However, I decided to go to college and become a teacher. Right now I am a stay at home mom, but I do have a degree in Education -- Math and Language Arts.

During my Language Arts classes, I learned that one way to make reading more fun for the children is to have a reading center. Some reading centers were small and just had little mats on the floor for the children. Some were larger and had round coffee table, sleeper chair, regular chairs, rugs, and much much more. Of course, we can't forget the most important part of a reading center -- the books.

If you have chairs that may damage the floor, then you can get chair leg caps to product the floor.

Please remember that the main thing about a reading center is to make it comfortable for the students. Our main goal here is to make reading fun and if the students are comfortable, then that is one step closer to them believing “Reading is fun”

Thanks,
Julie
